Preventive and Clinical Care

The University of Kansas Hospital's Occupational Health clinics provide routine medical services and ongoing clinical care. This includes:

  • Assessment and treatment plans for ergonomic problems
  • Clinical toxicology evaluations to determine if illness is due to chemical, biological or physical hazard
  • Diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation for workplace exposures and injuries
  • Initial evaluation and follow-up management of injured workers
  • Treatment plans for workers affected by sick building syndrome and indoor air quality problems

We also offer physical exams, screenings and immunizations, wellness exams and a mobile medical unit.

Physical Exams

Our Corporate Health program offers general employment physical examinations and specialized exams, such as pre-employment, executive and annual exams. These include fitness-for-duty or clearance exams that allow your employees to resume specific job functions following injury, rehabilitation or illness.

We also conduct exams for employees in regulated jobs, such as those required by the DOT, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Special exams are available for first responders, as well as employees who handle animals or hazardous materials.

Screenings and Immunizations

We screen for a variety of communicable diseases and health conditions, including:

  • HIV
  • Hepatitis A
  • Hepatitis B
  • Hepatitis C
  • Tuberculosis

Immunizations and vaccinations are available for:

  • Flu Shots
  • Hepatitis A
  • Hepatitis B
  • Influenza (October through mid-December)
  • Malaria
  • Measles
  • Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR)
  • Pneumonia
  • Polio
  • Tetanus and Diphtheria
  • Yellow fever

Wellness Exams

The University of Kansas Hospital offers wellness exams tailored to each individual’s age, gender, lifestyle and health history.

Mobile Medical Unit

Our Mobile Clinic and Field Services Laboratory offers on-site clinical and environmental medicine services. The clinic includes two full examination rooms and an X-ray suite. This allows medical professionals from The University of Kansas Hospital to conduct on-site full or abbreviated medical examinations for 10 to 30 employees in a day.
