Prostate Cancer

Prostate cancer is the number two killer of men in the United States. Because it is slow-growing, you may have no symptoms for years. By the time symptoms do appear, the disease may have spread beyond the prostate. Learn more about  prostate cancer.

You May Be at Risk

We encourage men in these groups to have an annual prostate exam.

  • All men over the age of 50
  • Men over 40 with a family history of prostate cancer
  • African-American men over the age of 40

Noncancerous Conditions

These are not life-threatening, but may cause discomfort. They are often treated with medication or surgery. The most common noncancerous prostate problems are:
