The da Vinci® Surgical System can be used for a wide variety of surgical procedures, including:
- Mitral valve repair
- Nissen fundoplication for the treatment of GERD
- Radical prostatectomy for the removal of the prostate
- Epicardial pacemaker leads for biventricular resynchronization
We have the only fellowship-trained urologic oncologists in the state of Kansas who use the da Vinci. Currently, we are using the da Vinci® Surgical System for these procedures:
- Bilateral salpingo oophorectomy (surgical procedure to remove both ovaries and fallopian tubes)
- Cystectomy (surgical removal of all or part of the urinary bladder)
- Hellar's myotomy (surgical procedure to cut the muscles of the cardia)
- Hysterectomy (removal of uterus)
- Lymph node dissection (surgical procedure to remove the entire prostate gland and surrounding tissue)
- Mitral valve repair
- Myomectomy (surgical procedure to remove uterine fibroids)
- Ovarian cystectomy (surgical procedure to remove an ovarian cyst)
- Partial and radical nephrectomy (surgical procedure of removing a kidney or section of a kidney)
- Pyeloplasties (surgical repair of the connection between the kidney and the ureter)
- Radical prostatectomy (surgical procedure to remove the entire prostate gland and surrounding tissue)
- Redo nissen fundoplication (surgical procedure to correct acid reflux)
- Thymectomy (removal of the thymus gland)
