KANSAS CITY, Kan.– Health care professionals who are required to work with statistics can enhance their skills through the University of Kansas Medical Center’s second annual conference on Biostatistics for the Nonstatistician.
Through lectures and case studies, the October 9 conference will train health care professionals in understanding biostatistics in research and clinical settings. Participants may choose one of four courses: Introduction to Statistical Computing (SAS Analyst and SPSS), Introduction to Epidemiology, Introduction to Biostatistics, and Introduction to Categorical Data and Survival Analysis. Each course will familiarize attendees with statistical terminology and concepts and the role of statistics in medicine and research.
The conference will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the School of Nursing Building at the University of Kansas Medical Center. All conference faculty are affiliated with the Center for Biostatistics and Bioinformatics at the Medical Center. Continuing education credit will be provided for nurses and physicians.
