the region. To facilitate these relationships, our Physician
Relations Team maintains regular contact with community physicians
in the Kansas City metropolitan area and several rural
counties.
Whether you need information about the types of cancer services
available, have questions about the latest cardiology procedures or
want to know the easiest way to refer a patient, we are here to
help. We visit physicians like you to maintain ongoing
communication and to connect you with the great variety of
resources at The University of Kansas Hospital. We also provide
information and act as a resource for the practice manager,
referral specialist or nurse manager in your office.
To contribute to a successful relationship between the hospital,
and referring physicians, the Physician Relations Team provides the
following support:
- Provides information about new services, physicians and
departments
- Assists you and your office staff in securing timely patient
referrals with the appropriate specialists
- Organizes physician-to-physician meetings at your office with
specialists from The University of Kansas Hospital
- Provides Information to your staff about managed care and
insurance plans that the hospital accepts
- Troubleshoots problems and communicates your needs directly
to the appropriate individual or organization within the
hospital
- Serves as a convenient, single contact person for any of your
questions

- Kansas: Atchison, Douglas, Franklin, Johnson,
Leavenworth, Lyon, Miami, Shawnee, Wyandotte
- Missouri: Buchanan, Cass, Clay, Jackson, Johnson, Platte
