Transplant programs

Nationally recognized leaders provide expert care

Transplant programs at The University of Kansas Hospital are nationally recognized for excellence and leadership in liver, kidney/pancreas, and blood and marrow transplants. Patients receive the most advanced care possible from a transplant team that includes doctors, surgeons, nurses and other health care professionals.

The hospital's first kidney and pancreas transplants were performed in 1969. We have completed more than 780 liver transplants since the program began in 1990. Our blood and marrow transplant program, established in 1977, is the region's largest and first to be accredited by the Foundation for Accreditation of Cell Therapy.

Your primary care doctor must refer you to our transplant programs.
