IMPROVING SPEED OF EMERGENCY CARE

In February 2009, the hospital opened eight new private rooms in its Emergency Department. That brought the number of private treatment and diagnostic rooms to 28, with additional rooms dedicated to the Level I Trauma program and psychiatric evaluation. The goal: Get more patients out of the waiting room and into appropriate care more quickly. Some of the new space is dedicated to the hospital's Fast Track program, which speeds care to non-acute patients.
